The GSMA Mobile World Congress is the worlds largest exhibition for the mobile industry and provides a congress for high profile CEO’s who represent mobile operators, vendors and content owners from across the world.
55,000 people attended the previous two congresses in 2007 and 2008 both held in Catalonia , Spain and prior to this they were held in Cannes , France .
As well as CEO”S and exhibitors , vendors and patrons attending the show large numbers of international print, Web and broadcast media covered the show.
A total of 1,300 companies exhibited .
The 2009 Mobile World Congress was held on Monday, February 16, to Thursday, February 19. The first day was dominated by Microsoft-related announcements which highlighted their increased partnership with LG and demonstrated their new Windows Mobile 6.5 Operating System.
